From print to photography, I travel city to city igniting my passion behind the lens. Residing in Toledo, Ohio, I capture events, people, city scapes and street views to bring new life to something seen before.
Hi, I’m Dougie. Photography wouldn’t mean what it does to me today if it weren’t for all of my experiences leading up to right now. It started when I entered the Print industry at 19 years of age where my early fascination with imagery became a reality I was actually producing. From the professionals I worked alongside with to the customers who taught me what working artists look for, I grew a keen eye for detail and composition that advanced with the development of Print itself.
Since returning to Toledo after 12 years living away in 3 other cities, I’ve been on a mission to use the lessons I’ve learned to shape a new life for myself. Throughout the past 25 years, I grew accustomed to a new life with each move. One thing that never changed was the way the streets light up at night and how people interact with their city. I learned that no matter where I go, I could relive those experiences through the art of photography.
Focused on color and composition, my work reflects the unique perspective taken at each location.
I had the pleasure of photographing the American Cancer Society’s 6th annual Taste of Hope event that included nearly 700 guests and 22 Chicago restaurant participants. With philanthropic events such as this one, it is so important to capture the feeling of the room and bring out the specific touches that visually tie the event together.
Event Photography expanded my direction significantly. There’s something really special about capturing a moment that will never return but always be remembered.
